Funny or Die recently posted a video starring Katy Perry to encourage America's youths to get out and get voting. The presidential election is getting ever closer and the world is eagerly watching to see who will step into the role of commander-in-chief.
The video's agenda avoids mentioning either candidate, Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump and instead focuses on the importance of voting whether you rock up to the booth in your onesie, some comfy PJs or perhaps even naked! Of course, the American police will not actually permit public nudity, even in the case of an election but Katy Perry certainly caught people’s attention and has promoted the cause.
The video had a huge echo on social media and also the approval of the Queen of Pop music, Madonna, who shared a nude photo of herself on Twitter, which has since been removed, which said:
“I’m voting naked with Katy Perry!!! [...]”
Many celebrities have joined in the effort to push young people to vote as voting day on Tuesday November 8 draws nearer.
Whether Katy Perry’s video, which is currently trending on social media, can be considered politically correct or not, it focuses on an important issue as a large percentage of people, especially young people, do not exercise their right to vote.
