An old Disney film which recently resurfaced has been slammed by fans for promoting an "unrealistic" female body type.
Inner Workings is a short film which was created by Disney in 2016, but it has circulated on Twitter this week after social media users called out the cartoon for being "wrong".
The story is about a cartoon man named Paul, who falls in love with a woman named Kate, who has a rather large bum, a tiny waist and a thin neck.
The screenshots were initially shared on Glitch, where a fan wrote: "In no world did [Disney] need to do this."
Soon after the comment was made, it reached the attention of other outraged fans and racked up more than 180,000 likes, with many users unhappy with the proportions of Kate's cartoon figure.
One wrote: "What the absolute hell are these character designs?"
Another shared: "Kids will be concerned that a body should look like, do they know that’s it’s a Disney film right??? Half of the characters are unrealistic."
"I know it's just a cartoon but for the love of God... they need to put some belly on that girl," a third shared.
They added: "It makes me sad thinking kids out here thinking that's how their body should look.
"It's naturally impossible to have a booty like that with no belly at all."
It comes after people called out the classic movie Grease, which aired over Christmas, for its "sexist" and "rapey" nature when they watched it for the first ever time.
However fans defended it and claimed it needed to be seen in the context of when it was first released in 1978.
A fan wrote: "Tbh Grease is rapey and slut shaming and probably kinda homophobic and creepy but it was made in a different time when this sort of s**t still wasn't OK but it was accepted."
"Not offended by Grease, nor do I want it 'cancelled' or 'banned' but watching it now I see problematic scenes that make me cringe when I watch it," a second user shared.
