According to the Post, the seven-months pregnant wife of Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie sent her husband a series of suicidal texts messages in May 2011 that read: “God forgive me, I don’t want to die. What have I done?” and “I cut my wrists. I took those pills.” It turned out all to be a ruse to get her husband back home, fearing he was cheating on her with another woman. After all, the 28-year-old Cromartie has quite the reputation: he has 10 kids by eight different women in six states, AND the couple is expecting a set of twins soon.

Terricka Cason Cromartie was then-pregnant with the couple's second child, Jagger; Cromartie believed the suicidal texts were real enough to frantically call NJ police at 2:43 a.m. “There’s a problem at my house. She’s bleeding. She cut her wrists,” he told the dispatcher. She confessed to police she faked the whole thing because she thought Cromartie was cheating: “She stated that she had no intention of going through with the act,” says a police report on the May 6, 2011 incident. “She said she was exercising her First Amendment right to free speech and could say whatever she wanted.”

She also said she sent texts to Cromartie's alleged paramour, and even told "her that both she [Terricka] and her husband have [word redacted] even though they do not,” the report says. Terricka was forced to take a psychiatric evaluation as she became “belligerent, uncooperative, irrational and argumentative.”

All of this is to say that maybe, just maybe, this is a terrible consequence of having 10 kids by eight different women in six states (not counting the two other babies on their way) at the tender age of 28. Below, you can consult the Post's handy graph to keep track of everything:
